Frequently asked questions related to the RevelDigital digital signage platform

  • What makes your product so different?

    Our product is a true digital signage platform. This means we provide the tools and capabilities necessary to implement nearly any digital signage scenario imaginable.
  • What does SAAS mean?

    SAAS is an acronym for Software As A Service and refers to any web or cloud based software accessed through a web browser. RevelDigital is web based so we say it uses the SAAS software model.
  • Can I cancel my account at any time?

    Yes, we do not mandate any long term contracts. You can cancel at any time without penalty.
  • How much does it cost?

    We strive to be the most affordable digital signage provider in our class. Prices vary depending on the number of players in your network, the type of player (Windows/Android), and the service level. Please contact us for current pricing.
  • How does a video wall work?

    Most video wall implementations require the use of specialized hardware, known as a video wall splitter, which divides the video output into 2 or more separate video outputs. Alternatively we support PC's with multiple video outputs as well as the ability to SYNC video via network to any number of players.
  • What about security?

    Revel Digital is ISO /IEC 27001 certified. Certification requires that Revel Digital meets the highest standards for information security and service availability. Our software is designed to communicate over standard HTTPS protocols and will generally have no problem navigating firewalls. We also generate all traffic outbound from the player so there is no need to open up or compromise your network security in any way. SSL/TLS is used to encrypt all network traffic to/from Revel Digital servers.
  • What if I want to use my own hardware?

    No problem. We can provide the installation package for our player software free of charge. We do not however offer any support for 3rd party hardware. Click here to see about our Trial software.
  • What do I need for hardware?

    We support most modern platforms including Windows, Android, Linux, Brightsign, FireTV, and Chrombox. Android devices must be running a minimum of the Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. See the hardware page for more details on preconfigured hardware options.
  • Where can I find the player software?

    Instructions on installing our software can be found here. Our app is available on the Windows Store, and the Google Play Store.
  • Can I integrate live TV?

    Yes, our software supports integration of live video into your signage. This requires an IPTV device which broadcasts your video over a local network. Any RevelDigital players on your network can then utilize the IPTV video stream as a zone in your signage.
  • What is Audience Analytics?

    Audience analytics is the measurement and analysis of your digital signage audience utilzing either a camera, Bluetooth beacon, or other device such as a motion sensor. Most any signage player with a camera can be utilized for audience analytics. See our KB article here for more details.
  • What are Beacons?

    Put simply, a beacon is a tiny Bluetooth transmitter emitting a unique identifier. In most cases the purpose of a beacon is to provide context awareness to digital signage, or to push media to mobile devices.

    The Revel Digital platform offers seamless support for beacon campaigns. The very same management tools used for digital signage campaigns can also be used for beacon campaigns including content scheduling, device monitoring, and even reporting including AdHawk audience analytics.   • Are there any privacy concerns with analytics?

    We do not collect any information which could be used to identify an individual. All data collected is anonymous and is used in aggregate to determine patterns.
